Sketch 37

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends !! Now comes the craziness of the holiday preparations. So, take a break from the hectic pace and enjoy our latest sketch !! Sketch 37 is a great multi-photo sketch and can be interpreted MANY ways, as you will see !!!

To help inspire us is our very talented guest designer Celeste Smith, from Connecticut !!

I live in Connecticut with my wonderful husband of ten years, Terry and our two cute boys, Adam and Sam. They are my primary scrapping subjects and my sometimes unwilling models. Scrapbooking is my creative outlet. As a full-time competitive analyst at a large insurance company, my days are filled with details and numbers. My evenings are filled with patterns, color and design. A real stress reliever! My style has been consistently clean and graphic with a bit of funkiness thrown in for good measure. I currently design for KI Memories, October Afternoon, Pebbles, Freehand Scraps and Write.Click.Scrapbook. I absolutely adore sketches and I was thrilled to participate her at Inspired Blueprints!

Celeste designed a great layout with the sketch and since she creates 8.5 x 11 layouts she has a great tip on how to convert a 12 x 12 sketch to accommodate an 8.5 x 11 page : "To converted the sketch to an 8.5 x 11, all I did was open the sketch in Photoshop and change the size to 8.5x11 - that basically just squished the proportions - then I printed it out and measured. Great tip for us 8.5x11 scrappers!" Here is Celeste's adorable layout:

Sketch 36

Glad to see all the lovely gallery entries for Sketch #35 !! Keep them coming because the E.A.D.Designs Rub-Ons are a GREAT prize !! You will love them !!

Now onto Sketch 36 !! The scalloped background in this sketch provides a stylish place to house photos and memorabilia. The photos can be swapped out and arranged in many different ways !! The Design Team used the fabulous E.A.D. Design rub-ons and we've all had a blast incorporating them into our projects !! Here is Sketch 36 ...

Our guest designer is the multi-talented Layle Koncar, a designer for Basic Grey !! She has a fun style and loves to travel and teach classes !! She has tons of publications and has created an awesome layout for us !! Here's Layle, her background and her gorgeous version of sketch 36 !!

Hi guys! Layle Koncar here. I've been scrapbooking in one form or another for the past 11+ years when my first son was born and jumped at the chance 3 years ago to take on scrapbooking as a real job! I recently accepted a new job with Basic Grey and I'm super excited to be working for such a great company with such yummy products! My scrap subjects are my 2 boys; since I don't have daughters to scrap, I like to get my pink, girly fix in by scrapping photos from my childhood. I've been teaching for the last 5 years and truly enjoy the travel and the connections with other scrapbookers that comes with it. My work has been published in Creating Keepsakes, Better Homes and Gardens Scrapbooks Etc., Memory Makers, Paper Crafts, Legacy, Scrapbook Trends, Paper Trends and Pinecone Press. I authored and contributed to the book Memory Art and am a regular contributor to Paper Crafts books and special issues. In addition to scrapbooking, I LOVE interior decorating, skiing, reading, traveling, shopping, going to flea markets and spending time with my hubby Nick and my 2 rambunctious boys Jack and Sam.

Guest Designer !!

bio: I remember the day I discovered my Grandmother's scrapbooks and was so delighted to have this glimpse into her life. It all became clear exactly why I take so many photos, save each piece of paper, and try to record every aspect of my life as a young single girl. I am lucky to currently live in New York City, where there is inspiration around every corner. Besides scrapbooking I love traveling, curling up with a good book, laughing with friends, and cupcakes with lots of icing. I'm honored to be designing for American Crafts and Fiskars, as well as being part of the 2008-2009 Creating Keepsakes Dream Team and a Garden Girl at Two Peas in a Bucket.com.

Welcome November and Sketch # 35 !!!

November is here ... can you believe it ?!?! We want to thank everyone again for helping us celebrate our ONE YEAR Anniversary last month !! Your creations were all wonderful and we hope you enjoyed the extra sketches !! Prizes will be announced shortly !!

Our first November sketch is a great one to show off a memorable larger photo. However, several smaller photos can be substituted as well !! Our sponsor this month is E.A.D. Wrapping up our Month Long Birthday Celebration !!!

Thanks to everyone for participating in our month long Birthday Celebration !! It has been fun and we hope you've enjoyed the extra sketches and all the inspiration. The final sketch to wrap up the celebration is a first for Inspired Blueprints ... a circular layout !! You're going to love this !! The Design Team has had so much fun with the sketch and we hope you will also. So here is Sketch 34 :

Our guest designer is the lovely and oh so talented Ngaire Bartlam from Australia. Her style is colorful, eclectic and artsy. Here is a bit about Ngaire and her take on this sketch :

A Brisbane based Artist and scrapbooker for over 10 years, Ngaire has written two books: "Lumpy Bumpy" and “Its all about YOU”. She regularly creates for Tarisota Collections, Printblocks and Fiskars Australia … also contributing to several magazines and guest design spots each year. She has been a sell out instructor for the Australasian Scrapbooking and Papercrafts Conventions. Previously a long-time tutor for the ISC conventions, she is now a freelance artist and instructor, teaching all over Australia and beyond.

“My style is eclectic and breaks the rules. I love using lots of colour, texture and embellishment. I like to have fun with my art, and as such, my classes are all about enjoying the process as well as loving the end result. My passion is to encourage all class members to open their minds and their hearts, and to really experience JOY on their creative path, where ever it may take them.”
